Beyond Radio celebrates Studio 1 makeover

January 13, 2020
Beyond Radio is celebrating the reopening of its main studio after a refurbishment.
Studio 1 at the radio station in Lancaster has been completely redecorated and now offers even better facilities for providing fantastic local programming for the Lancaster and Morecambe district.
The Beyond Radio team worked from early December through the Christmas and new year period to get the new studio looking ship-shape, moving broadcasts temporarily into Studio 2 while the work was carried out.
Chris Brookbanks, technical director at Beyond Radio, said: "The main reason for the refurb was because we needed more space.
"The new studio offers better access for our presenters and for visitors to the station.
"It's the latest step in our transformation of an abandoned bowling pavilion into a fully-fledged broadcasting studio, which we think is quite an achievement.
"Thank you to everybody who helped - particularly our commercial director Nathan Hill, our volunteer co-ordinator Duncan Moore, Big Dave 'The Tall Plumber' and to all our volunteers for their patience during the work."
Rachel Banks, Beyond Radio presenter, said: "Studio 1 looks and sounds amazing!
"Thank you to everyone who was involved in the refurbishment - it’s brilliant!"
Beyond Radio broadcasts real local radio for Lancaster and Morecambe on 103.5FM at at from the Old Bowling Pavilion, Palatine Park, Bowerham in Lancaster.
