Fundraiser set up in memory of our friend, Jonathon Pearson

A fundraiser has been set up in memory of our much loved and missed friend and presenter, Jonathon Pearson.

JP passed away earlier this month at the age of just 26.

He was the presenter of 'The Morning Show with JP' on Saturdays on our radio station, having joined us in August 2017.

Jonathon's memorial service will be held at St Barnabas Church, Morecambe, LA3 1TF at 12pm on Friday, February 2. All who knew him are welcome.

JP’s family ask anyone thinking of bringing flowers on the day of Jonathon's funeral, or anyone who knew him and is able, to instead join others in making a donation in memory of Jonathon.

Any monies raised will be divided evenly between two causes.

The St Barnabas Church Organ Appeal - Jonathon lived close to St Barnabas Church and was made to feel very welcome by the congregation there. He was really invested in this appeal and wanted to do everything he could to help.

Phab - An organisation that brings people together and helps those with disabilities to do fun things and have adventures that they could not otherwise have enjoyed. Jonathon attended Phab holidays at Bendrigg Lodge for many years - it was his first real experience of being away from home and where he first fell in love with adventure sports and chasing adrenaline.

Jonathon’s sister, Emma (pictured above, with Jonathon), told us: ‘’Both St Barnabas and PHAB played a big and happy part in Jonathon’s life and are incredibly worthy of support.

‘’At Phab he learnt how much he loved adventure activities - something which would lead Jonathon to chase adrenaline in all manner of ways, including but not limited to indoor skydiving, running a half marathon, skiing and paragliding.

‘’Phab has also been a hugely important charity for me personally as I volunteer with them every summer.

‘’At St Barnabas, he was welcomed into the congregation and found a community in Morecambe who were so good to him. They are fundraising for a new organ and Jonathon donated to this cause himself last year.

‘’If you are able to donate it would be gratefully received in his memory.’’
