Police are investigating after thieves attempted to steal a cash machine from Burton in Kendal services over the weekend.
They were contacted at 2.14am on Saturday morning (October 21) to a report that a number of offenders wearing balaclavas had arrived at the service station and attempted to steal an internal ATM at the services.
Having failed in this, entry to a store has occurred and the offenders have then stolen a cash register.
They have then driven from the scene.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
