Charity aims to set up suicide crisis centre in Morecambe

December 03, 2019

A charity that helps people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts and feelings needs your help to set up a 24 hour crisis centre in Morecambe.

Action for Wellbeing is on the hunt for a suitable building and also needs help with funding and renovating the property.

Freddie Buchanan, director of Action for Wellbeing, will be a guest on Beyond Radio tonight (December 3) to talk about the project.

Every year close to 800,000 people take their own life and there are many more people who attempt suicide, according to the World Health Organisation.

It was the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds globally in 2016.

Action for Wellbeing exists to reduce the number of suicides in South Cumbria and North Lancashire and to provide support to those considering suicide, and to those bereaved by suicide.
