Coastguard, Fire & Ambulance assist Stony Jetty rescue

May 12, 2020

On Monday at around 17.10 Morecambe Coastguard team were called out to a person trapped within the rocks just of the stone jetty. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service  used there lifting equipment to get the casualty out of the rocks, then lifting them back onto the stone jetty to be treated by North West Ambulance Service.

The Coastguard would like to remind people that they often see young children playing on these rocks completely unaware of the danger. The rocks look big, strong and stable but some may move due to the weather and tide making them unstable. Alternatively a small slip could have disastrous consequences.

Remember if in danger on or around our coastline call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
