Have your say on Eden Project North plans for Morecambe

October 08, 2019

You can have your say on plans for the Eden Project North in Morecambe at a series of drop-in events.

The Eden Project team will be available to meet in Morecambe later this month so residents can ask questions.

The Eden Project wants to build a major £85m tourist attraction on Morecambe seafront, similar to the smash hit Eden Project in Cornwall.

Plans are at an early stage but Eden Project hopes to open the new centre in 2023 subject to planning approval and funding.

They estimate it will attract around 760,000 visitors per year but it will be designed to accommodate up to one million, with a daily capacity of 4,000 people.

Eden Project North would be themed around the natural beauty of Morecambe Bay.

It would also have a 4,000-capacity outdoor arena designed for live music and entertainment.

You can meet the team on the following dates:

Friday October 18 - Winter Gardens, Morecambe noon to 7pm

Saturday October 19 - Winter Gardens, Morecambe noon to 8pm

Monday October 21 - Stanley's Youth and Community Centre, Stanley Road, Heysham, noon to 8pm

Tuesday October 22 - Bare Village Club, Bare, Morecambe, noon to 8pm

The events are free and family-friendly, and include refreshments and kids' activities.
