Looking for a career in Health, Social Care & Hospitality?

It’s no secret that within the Health and Social Care and Hospitality sectors there is a shortage of steady staff and recruitment continues to be difficult. In efforts to help improve this there is work underway at Lancaster & Morecambe College to organise a fun recruitment event which will put both these sectors in the limelight. The idea is simply to inspire, present, motivate and encourage the community and in particular the younger generation to follow a career within health and social care or hospitality to ensure that we have a sustainable supply of appropriately skilled staff for the future.

The day will be based around showcasing careers within the health/social care and hospitality sectors, with live demonstrations and businesses from the industry exhibiting their offering for ALL AGES covering a range of skills and opportunities. We have a number of employers already committing to coming to support the event including the NHS, Better Care Together, Sandcastle Care, Hilllcoft, Lifeways, BareHall Quality careers, Alternative futures, Making Space, Job centre plus, and Lisa Allen from Northcote Manner – Michelin star chef doing free live cooking demonstrations

There will be NHS and Independent Sector providers looking to recruit. If you think you have a positive caring attitude you might enjoy doing paid work to support others. It does not matter what jobs you have done in the past, if your values are right, working in the health and social care sector could be for you. All ages welcome. Also you might know someone who would make a good carer and you can encourage them to call in. You can find out more about what Health and Social Care training is available. We will also be promoting apprenticeships at the event.

Local community radio station 103.5 Beyond Radio will also be attending the event and broadcasting live from 10am.
