Morecambe girl's Halloween hospice fundraiser

October 21, 2019

An eight-year-old Morecambe schoolgirl will run her third annual fundraiser for St John's Hospice - this year with a Halloween theme.

Poppy Barcas visited Beyond Radio to talk about the annual events she holds at her home to help the fight against cancer.

Poppy spoke to presenter Denise Cooper about her fundraiser this Saturday (October 26).

Family and friends will take part in apple bobbing, and there will be a tombola, cake stall, biscuit and cake decorating, pumpkin soup, witches' fingers (hot dogs) and more.

Poppy has been raising money for the hospice since she was five years old.

Her mum Michelle said her daughter hates cancer and wants to do her bit to help people and try to raise as much money as possible.

You can listen to the interview on Beyond Radio this Thursday (October 24) after 10am.
