Open day celebrates 100 years of Lancaster Footlights

January 14, 2020

The Lancaster Footlights will hold an open day at the Grand Theatre this Sunday (January 19) as part of their 100th birthday celebrations.

The doors to the Grand will open from 11am to 4pm for people to come along and find out what happens behind the scenes at Footlights shows.

The Footlights are the Grand's in-house theatre group, founded in 1920, and also owners of the theatre.

Volunteers will be offering information and advice on how to get involved in the Footlights.

Visitors are welcome to take part in an acting/audition workshop from noon to 1pm, a sound and lighting showcase from 1pm to 2pm, and a dancing and singing workshop from 2pm to 3pm.

The Footlights' first show at the Grand in their centenary year is Hobson's Choice running from March 10-14.
