Gibson Freedman

Gibson Freedman presents the 'Tea Time' show on Beyond Radio which can be heard on weekdays between 3pm and 6pm and tells us "I absolutly love it."

Born in Maryport in 1947, Gibson worked down the pits as a miner, then got into nursing and moved to Morecambe.

He worked as a theatre nurse at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and other local hospitals for more than 40 years before retiring at the age of 72.

In his spare time during the '70s, '80s and '90s, he worked as a DJ at clubs, hotels and venues all over Lancaster, Morecambe and the Lake District.

One of his DJing inspirations was Tony Prince, a well-known presenter on popular commercial radio station Radio Luxembourg.

You can hear the full interview with Gibson in the second hour of last night's The Resident with Greg Lambert show on Beyond Radio here
